Ben Fitzgibbins elected as Mint Minister

23 January 2023

Today, the Ministry of Elections announced the winner of yesterday's Minister of Mint election. The Minister of Mint is an extremely important office in Phillip because they are the only person who is authorized to print money which is why it is a public appointment. With 60% of the vote, Ben Fitzgibbins was officially declared to be the winner. As expected, he won by a landslide because of the large support he received from the citizens of Phillip. There was a 40% voter turnout for this election, which is a lot lower than the turnout for the last General Election. It was expected due to the rushed nature of the election and most citizens of Phillip not understanding the importance of this position. The other candidates performed as expected with Madison Marcos receiving 30% of the vote and Reed Von receiving 10%.

Fitzgibbins hasn't revealed what he plans to do as the Minister of Mint, but he will probably wait to do anything until VP Luke Fitzgibbins passes his bill on regulating the Mint's powers.
