First National Assembly session to be held on 20 January

18 January 2023

Today, Vice President Luke Fitzgibbins announced that the first ever National Assembly meeting would be taking place this Friday. During the meeting, representatives will be able to present and vote on numerous bills.

The biggest and most controversial bill being presented to representatives is one that would restrict the voting rights of Phillip's citizens. The bill, which is being presented by VP Fitzgibbins, would prevent people older than somewhere between 19-23 and above from voting. The main argument of this bill is that family members of political candidates, which in most cases are older than the candidate, should not be allowed to vote because they would likely vote for their family member. A lot of politicians view that as unfair to candidates who don't have family in Phillip. This bill is not expected to pass the National Assembly but has support from a lot of Phillip's younger voters.

Other bills expected to be voted on are procedures on annexing land for Phillip written by Minister Cooper Norfolk and a huge bill consisting of regulations on the Minister of Mint written by VP Fitzgibbins. Both of these bills are expected to pass the house and be approved by President Renny.
