Pope of the Church of Phillip Releases “Five Pillars of Phillip” to Public

3 April 2023

After more than nine months of anticipation, the Church of Phillip has finally released a form of doctrine for its members to follow. With assistance from Minister of Corporations Owen Itzen, Pope Jaxson Renny released what the Church is calling the "Five Pillars of Phillip". The Five Pillars are a set of rules that followers of the Church must follow in order to be considered an official member. Minister Itzen, who primarily wrote the pillars with approval from Pope Renny, based them on the Five Pillars of Islam. Below is the list of the Five Pillars of Phillip and their meanings:

  1. Stompos - A profession of faith to the Church of Phillip

  2. Kipin - A prayer done twice daily towards the "Good Phillip" deity. Any prayers must be pointed in the direction of Port Phillip.

  3. Peros - A two dinero donation to the Pope of the Church once a week

  4. Swampa - A ritual in which members of the Church must eat two ounces of "river sand", only done one time.

  5. Battletoad - A pilgrimage to Port Phillip, only done one time.

In an interview with the Phillip Daily, Pope Renny stated that the pillars were made so that members of the Church of Phillip could "uphold a standard." Following the release of the Five Pillars of Phillip, the Church also released protocol for in the event that a Pope is exiled or dies. According to Minister Itzen, the Church believes that the spirit of the Pope will choose a new "cardinal" or leader of the Church.

The announcement of this new doctrine has excited many members of the Church of Phillip, as the largest religion in Phillip now has something to actually follow and participate in.
